Devin Hester is widely considered to be the best return specialist of all time, and is the only primary return specialist to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He holds the NFL record for most all-time return touchdowns – punt and kickoff combined – and most all-time punt return touchdowns.
He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, where he was the first player in the school’s history to play on offense, defense and special teams. In his 11-year NFL career, he played for the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, and Seattle Seahawks.
Hester was first drafted as a cornerback but quickly found success as a kick and punt returner. He would go on to become a wide receiver.
He’s the only player in NFL history to return a Super Bowl opening kick for a touchdown. He is a four-time Pro Bowler, and was named to the NFL All-Decade Team for the 2000s and the 2010s. In 2024, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
